Actress Wai Ching Ho, best known for playing the villainous Madame Gao in several Marvel television series, has died. She was 82. Former costars confirmed the news and shared tributes.
Peter Shinkoda, who appeared with her in Netflix's Daredevil, posted on Instagram that he had lost someone very special. "I won't ever forget you," he wrote. "I learned every minute from you when we were together on and off set. We will meet again, my friend. You were beautiful."
Ho originated the role of Madame Gao in Daredevil and reprised it in Iron Fist and The Defenders. Her other credits include Fresh Off the Boat, multiple Law & Order series, Only Murders in the Building, Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens, New Amsterdam, and One Life to Live.
She began her film career in 1990 with a role in Cadillac Man alongside Robin Williams. Later projects included A Price Above Rubies, Premium Rush, Hustlers, and Pixar's Turning Red. Her final project, the short film Here and Again, has not yet been released.
Judy Lei, another costar, also shared memories and expressed distress at her passing.
