Just six days after entering early access, Kraken Express's pirate survival game Windrose has sold over 1 million copies and peaked at 200,000 concurrent players. The studio marked the milestone in a Steam post thanking the community amid ongoing updates.
Building on its strong launch reception with nearly 100,000 peak players and very positive reviews, Windrose has now surpassed 1 million copies sold in six days. Kraken Express shared the news in a Steam blog post, addressing players as the 'crew of fine brave captains sailing the seas of Windrose.' The post also highlighted a new peak of 200,000 concurrent players while the team applies fixes and updates based on feedback. > Your support for the game is absolutely astonishing, and your patience while we are working on fixes is truly heart-warming. While we keep working on the game, we read your reviews and comments, watch your videos and streams, and sometimes, honestly, shed a pirate-y tear of happiness, because now when the game is out you share our dream of swashbuckling adventure. And there are boars, too, we know, but whatever does not send you flying into the nearest tree, makes you stronger, right? Thank you for this, captains. You are our inspiration in this journey, and YARRRRR, that’s going to be an exciting one. Eurogamer's earlier preview praised a demo, with reviewer Matt saying, 'Windrose already has my piratical heart aflame. I went from optimistic to completely sold.'
