EU godkjenner Arlas fusjon med DMK Group

EU-kommisjonen har godkjent Arlas fusjon med den tyske meierigiganten DMK Group. Fusjonen forventes å tre i kraft på mandag.

Godkjenningen kom fra EU-kommisjonen på torsdag. Det nye samvirkeforetaket vil få navnet Arla og samle 11 200 melkebønder fra syv land.

Selskapet vil ha 28 800 ansatte globalt og en omsetning på i underkant av 20 milliarder euro, tilsvarende 216 milliarder kroner.

”Ved å gå sammen styrker vi vår økonomiske motstandsdyktighet og vår evne til å investere i en matsektor med redusert påvirkning på klima og natur”, sier Arlas styreleder Jan Toft Nørgaard i en pressemelding.
