Huduma Kenya clarifies use of old good conduct payment receipts

Huduma Kenya has confirmed that payment receipts for a Certificate of Good Conduct remain valid for fingerprint capture if less than one year old. This allows applicants who paid but missed the fingerprint step to proceed without repaying. The clarification came in a social media response.

Huduma Kenya issued an official clarification on X (formerly Twitter) regarding the validity of old payment receipts for a Certificate of Good Conduct. "Please note that it can be used if the payment date has not past one year," the agency stated in its response.

This addresses applicants who paid via the eCitizen portal but missed fingerprint capture at Huduma Centres. One user who applied in 2025 asked if he could still use last year's receipt for the process. Huduma Centres host Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) desks for fingerprinting on working days.

Receipts over one year old require fresh payment. The service costs Ksh 1,050. Certificates are issued within two weeks and downloadable from eCitizen.

The clarification prevents applicants from paying twice unnecessarily, particularly those who skipped the fingerprint step.
