The Kenya Revenue Authority has assured taxpayers that technical problems with its iTax system have been fixed. This comes as Kenyans rush to meet the June 30 tax filing deadline. Complaints had mounted over access issues in recent days.
The Kenya Revenue Authority responded to reports of delays and login failures on the iTax portal. Taxpayers described the website failing to load and one-time passwords not arriving. One user stated that the system had been down for the last 24 hours.
KRA stated that the issue has been resolved and that iTax is now working seamlessly. The agency noted that similar problems with missing PAYE credits from late 2025 were also being addressed and would update automatically.
The filing deadline remains June 30 with no extension announced. KRA advised users facing discrepancies on the Shuru platform to switch to the IT1 return template instead.
