Oromia advances play-based learning for children

Oromia education officials announced ongoing work to strengthen play-based learning for children. This was highlighted during the World Play Day event.

The event took place in Addis Ababa on June 17, 2018, and included officials from the Education Ministry and regional bureaus.

Oromia Education Bureau First-Cycle Schools Director Ato Shemsedin Ibrahim said efforts are underway to make quality early education accessible everywhere.

Right To Play Bishoftu Lume Project Manager Mulgeta Gabisa explained that the five-year project is being implemented in Bishoftu town and Lume woreda. More than 75,000 books have been made available to support reading skills for grades one to four.
