Police confirm hoax in model Ansy Jan De Vries mugging claim

Police have denied reports that model Ansy Jan De Vries was the victim of a brutal mugging in Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta. Polda Metro Jaya said the story was made up for fun.

Polda Metro Jaya confirmed that Ansy Jan De Vries was not a victim of mugging or any other crime. Head of Public Relations at Polda Metro Jaya Commissioner Senior Police Budi Hermanto said the examination found the main motive was playful curiosity and a desire to follow the viral mugging issues.

The local RT chairman stated there was no official report of the incident. He only heard the story from the victim's mother and nearby residents. Police visited the neighborhood to locate the house after the news spread.

The hospital said to have treated the victim also denied it. RS Sumber Waras confirmed no patient named Ansy Jan De Vries in the past month. Police provided psychological support to the individual and urged the public not to spread unverified information.
