Addis Ababa official urges proper disposal of spoiled slaughter products in Medina

Addis Ababa's complaint handling authority spokesperson, Ato Ngatu Dagnachew, has called for the proper disposal of spoiled animal slaughter products in the city's Medina areas during Eid al-Adha preparations. This comes amid ongoing corridor and Wenz corridor developments. The measure aims to protect the city's cleanliness and diplomatic hub status.

Ato Ngatu Dagnachew, spokesperson for Addis Ababa's Denb Masqaber authority, told Fana Digital that spoiled products from animal slaughters during Eid al-Adha must be properly disposed of in the city's Medina areas. This is part of efforts to control illegal slaughter and unauthorized animal transport.

The city's corridor and Wenz corridor developments are aimed at boosting its status as Africa's Medina, enhancing cleanliness and serving as a diplomacy center, he said. Complaints related to these projects are being handled with diligence. Strict enforcement is applied in areas like land encroachment, illegal trade, provocative acts and illegal slaughter.

He emphasized that slaughtering verified healthy Qum animals is acceptable, and authorities will work to protect legal slaughter in Medina. The public was urged to take care during animal transport for Eid to avoid damaging the corridor developments and other infrastructure.

Additionally, liquid and solid spoiled products from holiday slaughters should be disposed of properly through the city's waste management system, the spokesperson advised.
