CMRL completes 26 deck slabs in Porur-Vadapalani corridor 4 section

Chennai Metro Rail has completed construction of 26 deck slabs in the Porur to Vadapalani section of corridor 4 under the upcoming phase II project, a key requirement for train services. This forms part of the first stretch from Poonamallee to Vadapalani via Porur, originally scheduled to open to the public in February but postponed.

Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has finished building 26 deck slabs in a section of corridor 4 within the phase II project. The work covers the stretch from Porur to Vadapalani, advancing compliance and readiness for train operations.

This is the first stretch of phase II, running from Poonamallee to Vadapalani via Porur. Corridor 4 overall links Poonamallee to Lighthouse through Alwarthirunagar and Porur.

The section was set to open to the public in February, but the launch has been delayed. As reported by The Hindu, the completion of these slabs represents a crucial step toward service commencement.

CMRL continues work on phase II expansions to bolster Chennai's metro network.
