Dina Pule toma posse como Ministra do Desenvolvimento Social

O presidente Cyril Ramaphosa nomeou Dina Pule como Ministra do Desenvolvimento Social. Ela foi empossada recentemente pela vice-presidente interina do Tribunal Constitucional, Nonkosi Mhlantla. Pule atuou anteriormente como Ministra das Comunicações de 2011 a 2013.

Pule prestou o juramento oficial por volta de 5 de julho de 2026. Ela se comprometeu a defender a Constituição e a desempenhar suas funções com honra.

Pule ocupou a pasta das comunicações entre 24 de outubro de 2011 e 9 de julho de 2013. Ela foi posteriormente destituída do cargo pelo então presidente Jacob Zuma. Conclusões da ex-Protetora Pública Thuli Madonsela descreveram sua conduta como ilegal e imprópria.

O comitê de ética do Parlamento também considerou Pule culpada de má conduta ética. Ela recebeu uma sanção salarial e foi obrigada a pedir desculpas à Assembleia Nacional.

O Departamento de Desenvolvimento Social gerencia um orçamento de R302 bilhões. Pule substitui Sisisi Tolashe, que foi demitida no início deste ano.
