Fred Again.. will lead free production workshops for trans+ musicians at Abbey Road Studios in London on Friday. The event forms part of the new Trans+ Future Sounds initiative organised by the Trans* Creative Collective.
The workshops are scheduled for June 19 at the London studio and will feature special guests including Sans Soucis, MESSIE, Trans Voices, charlieeeee, Satch, Emily Green and Fuzz Chaudhrey. They are made in partnership with Emily Lazar’s We Are Moving The Needle, a non-profit focused on women, non-binary and trans producers.
Organisers said the sessions aim to support producers and writers from the trans and queer community. A recent report from We Are Moving The Needle found that just 2.3 per cent of producers are women, trans or non-binary.
Charlieeeee, co-founder of the Trans* Creative Collective, said the event marks the fullest expression of the group’s mission since its founding in 2021. The collective has previously collaborated with BMG and appeared in the UK Music Diversity Report.
Fred Again.. recently completed his USB002 tour, which included a joint set with Thomas Bangalter at Alexandra Palace.
