Germany Fund shows positive impact after launch

German Economics Minister Katherina Reiche said on Sunday that the Germany Fund, launched in December 2025, has made a successful start in mobilising private capital.

The fund aims to use 30 billion euros in public funds and guarantees to facilitate total investments of some 130 billion euros. Its goal is to make the German economy more competitive.

Reiche noted that funding has already been provided for critical raw materials projects and start-ups. The state-owned bank KfW has given 150 million euros to Vulcan Energy Resources for a climate-neutral lithium project and 50 million euros to Arafura Rare Earths Ltd for a rare earths extraction project.

Further projects are due to be implemented in the near future, according to the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
