Halo Infinite receives surprise Gauntlet PvE mode

Halo Infinite has gained a new PvE mode called Firefight: Gauntlet through a surprise update. The addition comes six months after the game's final planned content drop in November 2025. Developers added the mode despite earlier statements that active support had ended.

The update introduces round-based encounters across five maps. Players gather supplies in a central area before facing waves of enemies and bosses. Upgradeable attributes and auto-scaled difficulty help teams of Spartans progress through the challenges. Skull modifiers become available after retrieving the Oddball from the Harbinger in each run.
