KPK raids Sarjan's home in Bekasi bribery case, probes alleged threat tactics

In a follow-up to the Bekasi Regency bribery scandal, Indonesia's Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) raided suspect Sarjan's home on December 24, 2025, seizing documents and electronic devices. KPK is also investigating claims that Sarjan used names of influential figures as threats to secure projects.

Building on the bribery case stemming from KPK's 10th hand-catching operation (OTT) on December 18, 2025—which led to the arrest of 10 individuals, naming of suspects Ade Kuswara Kunang (ADK), his father HM Kunang (HMK), and contractor Sarjan (SRJ) on December 20—investigators have uncovered new angles.

KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo revealed on December 25 that Sarjan allegedly obtained Bekasi projects by 'selling' names of important individuals as threats, potentially involving extortion. "Is it true there are such alleged tactics like threats, so there might be elements of extortion or others? This will still be delved into," Prasetyo told journalists in Jakarta.

On December 24, KPK searched Sarjan's residence, securing documents and electronic evidence including flash drives. "Today, a search was also conducted at his house, and investigators secured several pieces of evidence in the form of documents and electronic evidence in the form of flash drives," Prasetyo stated. The agency plans to analyze the devices and confront Sarjan with findings.
