Lennie James praises Patrick Gibson as potential James Bond

Lennie James, who plays Bond's mentor in the upcoming game 007 First Light, has endorsed co-star Patrick Gibson for the lead role in Amazon's next live-action James Bond film. James called Gibson 'fantastic' in the game and said producers would be 'mad' not to consider him. The comments came at last week's BAFTA Games Awards.

Lennie James, portraying John Greenway as James Bond's mentor in IO Interactive's 007 First Light, told Radio Times Gaming at the BAFTA Games Awards that Patrick Gibson is 'fantastic' as Bond in the game. 'The people in control would be mad' not to consider him for the main role in the next live-action film, James said. Those in control are Amazon executives, who acquired the James Bond franchise last year for $20 million, according to James's remarks reported by GamesRadar. He added, '[Gibson's] fantastic in our version of Bond, and I genuinely think he should be a candidate for the main role that they're trying to find someone for. I'm sure he's under consideration.'
