LIV Golf announces partnership with Novig for 2026 major

LIV Golf has partnered with sports prediction market Novig for branding on player kits during the first major championship of 2026, set for April 9-12. The deal features Novig logos on the left sleeves of seven players, including major winners Jon Rahm and Dustin Johnson. Additional activations include social content and a contest with a $500,000 prize pool.

NEW YORK -- LIV Golf announced a strategic partnership with Novig on Tuesday, marking the first time a prediction market will activate at a live professional golf event. The collaboration places Novig branding on the left sleeve of seven LIV Golf players during the season's first major championship window from April 9-12. The players are 4Aces GC Captain Dustin Johnson, Fireballs GC Captain Sergio Garcia, Legion XIII Captain Jon Rahm, Ripper GC Captain Cameron Smith, Legion XIII's Tyrrell Hatton and Tom McKibbin, and Southern Guards GC's Charl Schwartzel. These athletes collectively hold seven major titles and carry momentum from LIV Golf's early season events. Chad Biggs, LIV Golf's EVP of Global Sponsorship & Activation, said, “This collaboration demonstrates how we’re evolving traditional partnership models and creating new ways for brands to connect with the broader golf ecosystem.” The partnership extends beyond uniforms with a social-driven content series and player-focused posts leading into the tournament. Novig will launch special markets for traders to engage with golf storylines, particularly those involving LIV players. A contest offers a 500,000 Novig Cash prize pool, where fans trade daily on the tournament winner for a share, plus one winner receives a Novig Blue Blazer from a LIV Golf player. Jacob Fortinsky, Novig's co-founder and CEO, stated, “Novig is a place where winners are welcome—and LIV Golf’s roster is filled with winners, including former champions of the most prestigious tournament in golf—so this partnership was a natural fit.” Novig operates a commission-free, peer-to-peer prediction platform.

Absences of Phil Mickelson and Lee Westwood due to personal reasons add to the pre-event buzz.

Bryson DeChambeau defeated Jon Rahm in a sudden-death playoff to claim the inaugural LIV Golf South Africa title at the Club at Steyn City in Johannesburg. Both finished regulation at 26-under par, with DeChambeau birdieing the par-5 18th in the first extra hole from a challenging mud-ball lie. The event drew massive crowds in a festival atmosphere with music and local culture, selling out tickets up to R75,000 and marking one of LIV Golf's biggest successes, with a confirmed return in April 2027.

Brooks Koepka has rejoined the PGA Tour through its Returning Members Program, a move that Cameron Smith, a prominent LIV Golf player, supports despite rejecting a similar offer himself. Smith emphasized his commitment to LIV while wishing Koepka well in his decision. The development comes amid broader shifts in professional golf, including LIV's recent awarding of Official World Golf Ranking points.
