Madiun DPRD and city government agree on 17 local regulations

Madiun City Council (DPRD) and the city government have agreed to turn 17 draft regional regulations (raperda) into local regulations (perda). The agreement aims to advance the city and improve public welfare. The approval follows a lengthy process since 2023.

Madiun City Council (DPRD) and the city government in East Java agreed on Thursday to convert 17 draft regional regulations (raperda) into local regulations (perda). The agreement concludes discussions from 2023 to 2025, with provincial facilities completed early in 2026, enabling simultaneous approval.

Of the 17 raperda, 12 come from the executive and five are DPRD initiatives. DPRD drafts cover digital literacy, regional innovation, trade facilities development, smart city management, and public information transparency. Executive drafts address spatial planning, employment, population administration, environmental protection, traffic, and health business permits.

DPRD Chairman Armaya said, "From the start, it was stated there are 17 raperda, 12 from the executive and five from the legislature." She views the agreement as evidence of legislative productivity. The documents will go to the East Java Governor for approval and registration number, followed by mayoral regulations for technical guidance.

Acting Mayor F Bagus Panuntun explained the delay due to provincial harmonization. "After joint agreement, the city government will promptly send the documents to the East Java Governor for registration number before reporting to the Ministry of Home Affairs," he stated.

The new regulations are expected to strengthen governance in Madiun City.
