Maersk orders 1,000 India-made shipping containers

Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal unveiled the first India-manufactured EXIM shipping container for Maersk at the Maersk-CONCOR Inland Container Depot in Dadri on July 5. Maersk placed an order for 1,000 such containers during the event.

The unveiling took place at the Maersk-CONCOR Inland Container Depot in Uttar Pradesh's Dadri. It marked the production of the first export-import shipping container made in India for the Danish shipping firm.

Maersk announced the order for 1,000 containers at the same event. Officials described the move as the start of a longer-term manufacturing partnership in India.

The container was produced for Maersk under this new arrangement. No further details on the manufacturer or delivery timeline were provided in the reports.
