Musiala cannot yet precisely assess form ahead of world cup

One month before the World Cup, Jamal Musiala expressed doubts about his current performance level. The 23-year-old from FC Bayern Munich said it was hard to tell whether he had reached last season's standard.

In an interview with pay-TV channel Sky, Musiala spoke openly about his recovery from a serious injury. In July 2025 he suffered a broken fibula and damaged ankle joint during the Club World Cup quarter-final against Paris St. Germain. The injury required surgery followed by months of rehabilitation that included minor setbacks.

Despite good and less good phases, the attacking player said he was satisfied with his progress. He stressed that patience had been the biggest challenge in recent months because he wanted to return to his previous level as quickly as possible.

Musiala sounded optimistic about the World Cup. He said he had confidence in the German team, which possesses good quality and for which everything is possible. He plans to enter the tournament with positive energy.
