Ndindi Nyoro propõe cortes para reduzir preços dos combustíveis abaixo de 190 KSh

O deputado de Kiharu, Ndindi Nyoro, pediu à Assembleia Nacional que altere leis e reduza impostos para diminuir os preços dos combustíveis. Suas propostas surgem após os recentes aumentos acentuados anunciados pela EPRA.

Nyoro fez o anúncio durante uma coletiva de imprensa em Nairóbi na sexta-feira, 15 de maio. Ele afirmou ter escrito à Assembleia Nacional buscando a abolição da Taxa de Manutenção Rodoviária de 7 KSh, introduzida em 2024. Ele também pediu uma redução adicional de 5 por cento no IVA sobre combustíveis e a liberação de 5 bilhões de KSh do Fundo de Estabilização de Combustíveis.

Segundo Nyoro, essas medidas reduziriam o preço da gasolina comum em cerca de 27 KSh por litro, para 187,25 KSh. O diesel cairia para cerca de 215,92 KSh. Os preços atuais estão em 214,25 KSh para a gasolina comum e 242,92 KSh para o diesel após a última revisão da EPRA.

Nyoro alegou ainda que os acordos de importação de combustível de governo para governo beneficiam funcionários de alto escalão e devem ser extintos. As propostas surgem enquanto operadores de matatus se preparam para aumentar as tarifas em 50 por cento e organizar uma greve nacional na segunda-feira.
