Nvidia and SK Hynix announced on June 8 that they have entered a multi-year technology partnership to develop next-generation memory technologies for AI factories.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won announced the deal at SK Group headquarters in Seoul. Huang said, “We made a very significant and long-term partnership with SK,” adding that the companies will jointly develop technology road maps and deepen collaboration beyond traditional memory development. Chey noted that previous cooperation had centered on memory but will now be elevated to a higher level. The companies will co-develop memory technologies for Nvidia’s next-generation systems, including Vera Rubin AI supercomputers. SK Hynix, along with Samsung Electronics and Micron Technology, supplies HBM4 for Vera Rubin. Nvidia said Vera Rubin is now in full production and is scheduled to begin deliveries in the third quarter of this year. The partnership extends across SK Group. SK Telecom will build AI factories in Korea based on Nvidia’s DGX platform starting in 2027. Huang said, “The United States is number one, China is number two and South Korea, I think, is number three,” highlighting Korea’s role in the AI revolution.
