The Miljö- och hälsoskyddsnämnden has issued an order against O'Learys Vasagatan after rat droppings and gnaw marks were found on the premises.
On July 6 the environmental authority inspected the sports bar following complaints about rats near Centralen station in Stockholm. Suspected rat droppings were noted in the kitchen along with gnaw marks on door frames and several snap traps.
Three days later the inspectors returned. They then found food waste, garbage and rat droppings also in the bar and at guest toilets as well as fat deposits from a rat near a ceiling hole.
On July 14 the board decided that the restaurant must immediately clean the premises and protect them against pests. The order applies even if appealed because rats can spread infection.
