Tennis legend Roger Federer has made his debut on Forbes' 2026 World's Billionaires List, boasting an estimated net worth of $1.1 billion. The 44-year-old Swiss star achieved this milestone through a combination of on-court earnings, endorsements, and business investments. His inclusion highlights the growing financial success of top athletes beyond their sports careers.
Roger Federer, renowned for his 20 Grand Slam titles and 103 ATP Tour-level victories, has reached billionaire status, as reported by Forbes in its 2026 list released in March. The ranking, based on wealth evaluations as of March 1, places Federer among a record 3,428 billionaires worldwide, whose combined fortunes total $20.1 trillion.
Federer's wealth stems primarily from off-court ventures. He earned $130.6 million in prize money over his career, representing just 10% of his fortune. The bulk comes from endorsements and investments, including a 3% stake in Swiss footwear brand On Running, acquired in 2019 and now valued at around $17 billion, making his share worth at least $500 million.
Long-term partnerships have been key. Federer has collaborated with brands like Rolex, earning about $8 million annually; Mercedes-Benz, at $5 million a year; and Lindt, totaling around $20 million. In 2018, he signed a $300 million, 10-year deal with Uniqlo. Other enduring ties include Credit Suisse (now UBS) and Rolex, some lasting over a decade.
On the court, Federer's achievements include 310 weeks at No. 1 in the PIF ATP Rankings, with a record 237 consecutive, 28 ATP Masters 1000 titles, and six Nitto ATP Finals wins. He co-founded the Laver Cup and recently participated in an exhibition doubles match at the Australian Open in January alongside Andre Agassi, Patrick Rafter, and Lleyton Hewitt.
Federer joins fellow athletes LeBron James and Tiger Woods on the list, underscoring a trend of sports figures building empires through entrepreneurship. Other newcomers include director James Cameron, singer Beyonce, and hip-hop mogul Dr. Dre, all with $1 billion fortunes.
