SD in Hylte withdraws flyers on social services after criticism

The Sweden Democrats in Hylte have halted distribution of flyers claiming social services take away children. The flyers, translated into multiple languages, were withdrawn following sharp criticism from other parties and Minister Camilla Waltersson Grönvall.

On Friday, TV4 Nyheter revealed that the Sweden Democrats in Hylte had distributed flyers stating ”sätt stopp för att socialtjänsten omhändertar era barn”. The message was also translated into Arabic, Somali and Albanian.

Social Services Minister Camilla Waltersson Grönvall (M) described the action as ”väldigt allvarligt”. She warned that disinformation could prevent children from receiving needed help.

On Saturday, Stina Isaksson, SD group leader in Hylte, announced that distribution had been stopped. She wrote that the party did not intend to contribute to conspiracy theories.

Several parties in Halland, including the Social Democrats, the Green Party and the Centre Party, are now demanding that Isaksson resign from her positions.
