Vários terremotos de baixa magnitude são registrados no Chile no domingo

O Centro Sismológico Nacional relatou onze eventos sísmicos no domingo, 14 de junho, em várias partes do país, com magnitudes variando entre 3,0 e 4,4.

O tremor mais forte atingiu magnitude 4,4 às 18:54, horário local, com epicentro 19 quilômetros a oeste de Quintero e a uma profundidade de 28 quilômetros. Outros eventos incluíram um de magnitude 4,0 próximo a Socaire e vários terremotos entre 3,0 e 3,7 de magnitude ao redor de Carrizal Bajo, Curicó e Mina Collahuasi.

O Centro Sismológico Nacional da Universidade do Chile registrou todos os movimentos, a maioria em profundidades entre 20 e 272 quilômetros. O Chile está situado no limite das placas de Nazca e Sul-Americana, o que gera frequente atividade sísmica.

O Serviço Nacional de Prevenção e Resposta a Desastres (SENAPRED) reiterou as medidas básicas de segurança: manter a calma, abrigar-se sob um objeto resistente, desligar a eletricidade e o gás, e afastar-se de edifícios caso esteja ao ar livre.
