Song Sung-mun hits first MLB home run

San Diego Padres infielder Song Sung-mun hit his first Major League Baseball home run on Wednesday in Chicago.

Song Sung-mun drilled a middle-middle fastball from Cubs starter Colin Rea and sent it 385 feet into the right-field stands at Wrigley Field. The line drive left his bat at 107.7 miles per hour with a 20-degree launch angle.

The former KBO All-Star had doubled in the third inning. He later flied out in the sixth and grounded out in the eighth. Song is batting .233 in 33 games this season with one home run, nine RBIs and six steals.

The Padres fell 23-3 and extended their losing streak to five games. Starter Walker Buehler, reliever Kyle Hart and catcher Rodolfo Duran each allowed multiple home runs.
