Cinema espanhol brilha em Cannes com três filmes na competição

O 79º Festival de Cannes começa na terça-feira com uma presença espanhola sem precedentes. Três filmes competem pela Palma de Ouro, algo inédito para o evento.

O diretor artístico do festival, Thierry Frémaux, destacou a diversidade do cinema espanhol durante sua coletiva de imprensa na segunda-feira. "O cinema espanhol mostra uma diversidade e vitalidade surpreendentes, como nunca antes", afirmou.

Os filmes na seção oficial são Amarga Navidad, de Pedro Almodóvar, El ser querido, de Rodrigo Sorogoyen, e La bola negra, de Javier Ambrossi e Javier Calvo. Viva, de Aina Clotet, será exibido na Semana da Crítica.

Frémaux observou que a seleção representa três gerações de cineastas espanhóis. O festival também prestará homenagem a Carlos Saura com a exibição de Cría cuervos.
