Steven Soderbergh launches weekly film and cocktail series at Nitehawk

Oscar-winning director Steven Soderbergh is marking his 63rd year with a nine-week film series in partnership with Singani 63 and Nitehawk Cinema. Titled “A Man Under the Influence: 63 Days of Steven’s Selects,” the event runs from February 18 to April 15, 2026, featuring nine influential films from different decades. Each screening includes themed cocktails inspired by the movies.

Steven Soderbergh, known for films like Ocean’s 11, Traffic, and Che, has announced a collaborative project with his Bolivian spirit brand Singani 63 and Nitehawk Cinema. The initiative celebrates Soderbergh’s 63rd year and highlights his favorite movies alongside the 500-year-old spirit he discovered while filming Che in Bolivia. Launched in 2018, Singani 63 positions Soderbergh as its sole exporter.

Spanning 63 days over nine weeks, the series begins on February 18, 2026, and concludes on April 15. Screenings occur every Wednesday night, alternating between Nitehawk Prospect Park and Nitehawk Williamsburg in Brooklyn. Soderbergh curated nine films, one per decade, spanning genres from screwball comedies to thrillers and blockbusters. The lineup includes Trouble in Paradise (1932, directed by Ernst Lubitsch), Notorious (1946, Alfred Hitchcock), The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T (1953), The Servant (1963), Jaws (1976, Steven Spielberg), Do the Right Thing (1989, Spike Lee), Fargo (1996, Joel and Ethan Coen), Lost in Translation (2003), and Phantom Thread (2017, Paul Thomas Anderson).

Each event features a special Steven Soderbergh trailer introducing the film, followed by a 63-minute Singani 63 Happy Hour. Guests can enjoy a rotating feature cocktail inspired by the night’s movie, crafted by top New York City bar partners such as The Terrace & Outdoor Gardens at The Edition Hotel Times Square, Madeline’s, LenLen, Jungle Bird, Nubeluz at the Ritz Carlton Nomad, Tigre, Little Rascal, Hello Hello, and Lex Yard at The Waldorf Astoria.

Tickets are available for these handpicked screenings, encouraging early arrival to savor the crafted cocktails in Soderbergh’s honor.
