Tekur Anbesa Specialized Hospital inaugurates 27-bed cancer treatment center

Tekur Anbesa Specialized Hospital in Addis Ababa has inaugurated a modern 27-bed cancer treatment center built at a cost of 6 million birr. The facility aims to enhance the quality of cancer and palliative care services, officials stated. Plans for prompt expansion of similar centers were announced.

On Miyazya 9, 2018 E.C. (Fana Media), Tekur Anbesa Specialized Hospital in Addis Ababa inaugurated a modern cancer treatment center.
The 27-bed facility, constructed at a cost of 6 million birr, seeks to improve the quality of cancer and palliative care services.

Attendees included Dr. Samuel Kifle, President of Addis Ababa University, along with hospital administrators and partner representatives. The hospital announced intentions to promptly expand cancer treatment and care referral centers.

Officials highlighted the center's role in preventing infections within the cancer department through various medical protocols. It addresses water supply issues and ensures oxygen availability with advanced infrastructure.

The inauguration resulted from collaboration between Italian Coop, Doctors with Africa CUAMM, the hospital, and the Health Ministry, with funding from Italian Coop. Additional medical equipment was provided, alongside professional training. CUAMM, a non-governmental organization, runs over 20 projects in Ethiopia's Somali, Tigray, Oromia, and other regions.
