William Sawe nomeado novo comandante da unidade de escolta presidencial

O Serviço Nacional de Polícia substituiu o comandante da equipe de segurança do presidente William Ruto após uma falha de segurança durante um evento em Ganze, no condado de Kilifi.

O vice-inspetor-geral do Serviço de Polícia do Quênia anunciou as mudanças na noite de domingo. Noah Kirwa Maiyo foi exonerado do cargo de comandante da Unidade de Escolta Presidencial e realocado para a sede da Polícia do Quênia. William Sawe, anteriormente oficial comandante da subunidade Recce, assumiu o cargo imediatamente.

O inspetor-geral Douglas Kanja ordenou os ajustes depois que um homem se aproximou do presidente no palanque em Ganze.
