Xbox strategy chief reaffirms belief in consoles

Matthew Ball, Xbox's new chief strategy officer, has voiced strong support for traditional console gaming in his first public comments since joining the leadership team. He described the platform as important, durable, and still growing.

Ball shared his views with Bloomberg on May 21, shortly after stepping into the role under Xbox CEO Asha Sharma. A longtime fan of Halo and Gears of War, he said reviving those franchises was an irresistible mission and recalled thousands of personal memories playing the titles in basements during their Xbox 360 heyday.
