Colombia's Procuraduría General de la Nación has provisionally suspended Asmet Salud EPS's special interventor, Lain Eduardo López Martínez, for three months over alleged deterioration in health services. Colombia's Procuraduría General de la Nación provisionally suspended Lain Eduardo López Martínez, the current special interventor of Asmet Salud EPS S.A.S., for three months due to alleged deterioration in health service delivery to users. The Administrative Surveillance delegate also opened disciplinary investigations into former interventors since 2023: Luis Carlos Gómez Núñez, Rafael Joaquín Manjarrés González, Javier Ignacio Cormane Fandiño, Gloria Libia Polanía Aguillón, and Raúl Andrés Munévar. The probes aim to determine if these officials failed in their duties during the forced intervention mandated by the Superintendencia Nacional de Salud. Preventive visits revealed rises in petitions, complaints, claims, and suggestions (PQRS), tutela actions, and contempt incidents. Further scrutiny targets the EPS's financial decline, including increased claims ratios, irregular contracting, liabilities, and reductions in assets, equity, and technoscientific and administrative conditions. The entity serves 1,585,721 affiliates, 96% under the subsidized regime, who allegedly received precarious and inefficient care. The oversight body has ordered tests to clarify these matters.
