Amid the crisis, Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman led a national donation drive at the Ministry of Agriculture's F Building Hall in Jakarta on Tuesday (December 2, 2025). The open, real-time event involved ministry employees, the National Food Agency, and agricultural business partners. In one hour, donations hit Rp75.85 billion without coercion, from Rp20,000 to major contributions from companies like PT Pupuk Indonesia and PT Charoen Pokphand.
"Whatever amount we accept. This is all our good intentions to help the people," said the Minister. He emphasized solidarity as a moral call: "The red and white calls! Our brothers are hit by disaster, and as a nation we must lend a hand." Transparency is ensured via a special BRI account and live fund flow checks. Aid will be distributed through the Ministry's Emergency Response Team in collaboration with local governments, Bapanas, and humanitarian organizations.
This is not the first; during the Palu earthquake, the Minister raised Rp50 billion in half an hour. As of this report, the donation post remains open. Baznas RI urges channeling through official institutions to avoid illegal fundraising that could lead to criminal charges, while Rumah Zakat has distributed 20,000 aid packages. The central government, including the Social Ministry with 30 public kitchens serving 80,000 meals daily, continues coordinated handling.
