An 89-year-old man and his 87-year-old wife were found dead in a To Kwa Wan flat in Hong Kong. Firefighters forced entry after a security guard reported a strange smell, and both were certified dead at the scene. Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances.
A security guard at Lok Seen Lau, a residential block in Lok Man Sun Chuen estate on Kau Pui Lung Road in To Kwa Wan, reported a strange smell coming from the flat at around 4.15pm.
Firefighters forced entry and discovered the couple, an 89-year-old man and his 87-year-old wife, lying unresponsive on a bed.
Both were certified dead at the scene. Officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
The incident occurred in Kowloon City district.
