Krsto Vujić dies after Barcelona shooting linked to Serbian clans

Krsto Vujić, shot last Tuesday on a Barcelona terrace, died in hospital on Sunday. Catalan police, the Mossos d’Esquadra, are investigating the incident as a homicide tied to the feud between Serbian clans Kavac and Skaljari. The attack took place in broad daylight in front of his partner and baby.

Krsto Vujić, 44, was shot twice in the back on Tuesday afternoon on the terrace of a bar along paseo Taulat in Barcelona's Poblenou district. An individual approached from behind and fired while Vujić was with his partner and baby. As reported by Ara, he was hospitalized and died on Sunday, turning the case into a completed homicide.

The Mossos d’Esquadra link the attack to the ongoing war between Serbian criminal clans Kavac and Skaljari, which has spread across Europe. Vujić was connected to the Skaljari. This marks the third fatality in Catalonia from the feud, plus one attempted murder.

Both groups imported cocaine from South America and were allies until a 2014 dispute over a 200-kilo shipment bound for Valencia. The violence has since claimed around sixty lives across various European countries.

Catalan police have targeted the clans since 2017, dismantling some factions. In October last year, Mossos d’Esquadra, National Police, and Serbian authorities arrested 13 people linked to the Kavac.
