Metro Jaya Police affirm Roy Suryo case proceeds to prosecutors despite partial pretrial win

Metro Jaya Police state that the legal process against Roy Suryo continues to the prosecution stage even after the South Jakarta District Court partially granted his pretrial motion on July 7, 2026.

Head of the Metro Jaya Police Legal Division Commissioner Abrianto Pardede explained that the case files along with evidence had been handed over to the prosecutor's office at stage II. He stressed that further handling of the case now rests entirely with the public prosecutor.

The pretrial ruling read by single judge I Ketut Darpawan declared the search based on the warrant dated June 18, 2026, the arrest based on the warrant dated June 19, 2026, and Roy Suryo's detention unlawful. Roy Suryo stated that the partial victory belongs not only to him but to everyone and that his legal fight will continue.

The police statement was made on July 8, 2026, and confirms that the pretrial decision does not halt the legal process that has entered the prosecution stage.
