Nutresa overtakes Ecopetrol as Colombia's most valuable listed company

Grupo Nutresa has surpassed 135 trillion pesos in market capitalization, displacing Ecopetrol as Colombia's most valuable listed company. The milestone came a day after reporting first-quarter results. Nutresa shares reached 304,000 pesos, up 1,034% since the first takeover bid in 2021.

Nutresa's market capitalization exceeded 135 trillion pesos, compared with just over 100 trillion for Ecopetrol. The food company sustained growth in revenues and profits, while the state oil firm has seen declines in its value since 2022.

Jaime Gilinski, president of the holding, highlighted the strength of corporate capabilities after 2025 results, when revenues reached 20.6 trillion pesos and profits 1.2 trillion. Since taking majority control, he promised to strengthen the conglomerate with greater international reach.

Nutresa, founded in 1920, operates in more than 80 countries and aims to recover its share in Venezuela, where it previously accounted for 25% of revenues. Gilinski expects sales between 6 and 10 million dollars this year in that market, with projected growth for 2027 and 2028.
