Sony Sonjaya asks BGN chief be questioned in MBG corruption case

Former BGN deputy head Sony Sonjaya through his lawyer has asked BGN head Nanik S Deyang to be questioned as a witness in the alleged corruption case of the Free Nutritious Meals program.

Sony Sonjaya's lawyer Elza Syarief said the request was conveyed through a letter to the Attorney General's Office. She believes Nanik S Deyang knows the issues behind the implementation of the MBG program for the 2025-2026 budget year. Elza said her client is ready to cooperate and plans to apply as a Justice Collaborator. Sony is said to have data that can help investigators trace alleged buying and selling of program points or kitchens. According to Elza, the data includes more than 30 names suspected of involvement. Sony denied direct involvement in the practice and only played a role in providing location points.
