In an extraordinary congress held in Addis Ababa, Ato Iyob Mesafint has been elected as the leader of the Ethiopian Citizens for Social Justice Party (EZEMA). This change follows the honorable retirement of the former leader, Professor Berhanu Nega, and his deputies.

During the congress, the party approved its seventh general election manifesto and presented 50 policy directions to its members. These policies focus on government expansion, national interest, development and economy, accountability, and other related issues.

EZEMA held this congress in Addis Ababa to reorganize its leadership structure, which is intended to strengthen the party's role in the upcoming general elections.
