Muhammad Iqbal, Denada's lawyer, expressed his disappointment in a Zoom interview on January 29, 2026.
"What I regret here is that the plaintiff is causing such a stir, going on podcasts everywhere, saying this and that, which doesn't match the facts. So in the end, the mediation failed," said Iqbal.
Iqbal highlighted the discrepancy between Ressa's public claims and official demands. In podcasts, Ressa is said to only seek recognition as a child, but the mediation summary shows the Rp7 billion demand persists. "In the mediation summary, the plaintiff still demands 7M. So in the podcast, they say they only want recognition as a child," he explained.
Meanwhile, an old 2001 video of Denada in a hospital resurfaced after being reposted by Instagram account @lambe_turra on January 30, 2026. The video shows Denada lying in a hospital bed, with captions claiming she was pretending to be ill after giving birth. In the footage, Denada states, "I can't even remember the last time I was hospitalized, it's been so long; I usually never go to the hospital. The last time in Australia was the worst; I had to have surgery, but it was just for my tooth and I didn't even stay overnight."

Iqbal also refuted allegations that Denada abandoned Ressa, asserting that his client has never denied Ressa's status as her child.
