The mediation process between singer Denada and Ressa Rizky Rossano in Banyuwangi has failed due to uproar on social media and podcasts. Denada's lawyer, Muhammad Iqbal, states that although Ressa claims to only seek recognition as her child, the Rp7 billion lawsuit continues. An old 2001 video of Denada in a hospital has resurfaced, sparking speculation about Ressa's birth.
The legal proceedings between Denada and Ressa Rizky Rossano continue to draw public attention in Indonesia. The mediation held in Banyuwangi initially proceeded smoothly but was disrupted by statements on podcasts and social media deemed inconsistent with legal facts. Muhammad Iqbal, Denada's lawyer, expressed his disappointment in a Zoom interview on January 29, 2026.
"What I regret here is that the plaintiff is causing such a stir, going on podcasts everywhere, saying this and that, which doesn't match the facts. So in the end, the mediation failed," said Iqbal.
Iqbal highlighted the discrepancy between Ressa's public claims and official demands. In podcasts, Ressa is said to only seek recognition as a child, but the mediation summary shows the Rp7 billion demand persists. "In the mediation summary, the plaintiff still demands 7M. So in the podcast, they say they only want recognition as a child," he explained.
Meanwhile, an old 2001 video of Denada in a hospital resurfaced after being reposted by Instagram account @lambe_turra on January 30, 2026. The video shows Denada lying in a hospital bed, with captions claiming she was pretending to be ill after giving birth. In the footage, Denada states, "I can't even remember the last time I was hospitalized, it's been so long; I usually never go to the hospital. The last time in Australia was the worst; I had to have surgery, but it was just for my tooth and I didn't even stay overnight."
Netizens reacted variably, with some pointing out the facial resemblance between Denada and Ressa. Iqbal also refuted allegations that Denada abandoned Ressa, asserting that his client has never denied Ressa's status as her child. The case underscores the challenges of mediation amid intense public scrutiny.
