Former Bima narcotics chief applies for justice collaborator status

Malaungi, former head of the narcotics unit at Bima City Police, has applied to become a justice collaborator in a narcotics case handled by the NTB Provincial Police's narcotics directorate. His lawyer states that the client is ready to reveal the entire drug trafficking network. This move is expected to be accepted by the authorities.

Malaungi, former Head of the Narcotics Unit (Kasat Narkoba) at Bima City Police in West Nusa Tenggara, has submitted an application to become a justice collaborator, or a cooperating perpetrator witness with law enforcement. The application was made to the NTB Provincial Police regarding the narcotics case involving him.

Malaungi's lawyer, Dr. Asmuni, announced this during a press conference in Mataram on Friday. "Today we are submitting the JC to the NTB Provincial Police regarding the narcotics case ensnaring our client, Malaungi," Asmuni stated.

According to Asmuni, Malaungi's cooperation was evident from the early stages of the investigation, which uncovered a network from Koko Erwin alias Erwin Iskandar to former Bima City Police Chief Didik Putra Kuncoro. "So, our client has opened everything up, what happened, from receiving money to who owns the goods; everything has been revealed, nothing is hidden," he added. Asmuni is confident the application will be accepted due to prior communication with the NTB Provincial Police and evidence of openness in the examination records.

Asmuni also praised the performance of the NTB Provincial Police and National Police Headquarters for successfully dismantling the methamphetamine distribution network in Bima, with the number of suspects continuing to increase. "Alhamdulillah, that is all thanks to the hard work of the National Police Headquarters and NTB Provincial Police in successfully busting the drug lord in Bima," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations for NTB Provincial Police, Senior Commissioner Mohamma Kholid, has not yet responded to the application despite confirmation attempts.
