Hanwha Aerospace joins Estonian defense industry association

Hanwha Aerospace Co. said Thursday it has joined the Estonian Defence and Aerospace Industry Association (EDIA) as the first South Korean member. The company aims to deepen ties with Estonian firms through joint R&D and supply chain cooperation. It builds on supplies of K9 howitzers in 2020 and Chunmoo systems in late 2025.

SEOUL, March 19 (Yonhap) -- Hanwha Aerospace Co. said Thursday it has joined the Estonian Defence and Aerospace Industry Association (EDIA) as the first South Korean member. In a LinkedIn post, the company stated, “By joining EDIA, we are choosing to sit at the same table as Estonian companies, listen to their needs and build something lasting together.” It added, “Through EDIA, we look forward to expanding joint R&D and supply chain cooperation with Estonian defense innovators.” Hanwha Aerospace aims to build a long-term partnership with Estonia's defense industry via this membership. The company first connected with Estonia by supplying K9 self-propelled howitzers in 2020 and the Chunmoo multiple rocket launcher system in late 2025.
