Heatwave: interministerial crisis cell set for Monday to review and prepare ahead

Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu will chair an interministerial crisis cell on the heatwave Monday afternoon, Matignon announced.

The meeting will review the heatwave episode now ending and draw lessons from it. It will also focus on preparing for and anticipating possible new episodes of high temperatures.

Monitoring of health and socio-economic impacts, including on agriculture, will also be on the agenda. On Sunday evening Météo-France said the scenario of strong heat across the country was becoming more probable for the week of 6 to 13 July, although intensity remains uncertain at this stage.

The prime minister has used the interministerial crisis cell format repeatedly throughout the historic heatwave.
