Honda is moving its V3R E-Compressor motorcycle from prototype to production, with a planned launch in 2027. Design filings reveal details of the combustion engine and bodywork.
The motorcycle features a 900cc 75-degree V3 engine with two front cylinders and one rear cylinder. An electronically controlled air compressor provides forced induction independent of engine speed, distinguishing it from traditional turbochargers or superchargers.
Honda first showed the engine at EICMA 2024. Recent design documents indicate the V3R E-Compressor will enter production next year, following earlier prototype testing.
If the powerplant succeeds in the initial naked bike configuration, Honda may adapt it for adventure models. The design stands out in a market dominated by parallel-twin engines.
