Hunza G to open two-month pop-up in Marylebone

Hunza G will open a two-month pop-up store in London’s Marylebone on Saturday, June 6. The swimwear brand aims to expand its presence in the city while showcasing its recent Burberry collaboration.

The pop-up marks the brand’s third temporary store in the British capital. It follows a management buyout in 2024 that made founder Georgiana Huddart the controlling shareholder and brought in investors including DMG Ventures and Venrex Investment Management. Huddart said the store will offer the Tyler bikini from the brand’s collaboration with Burberry, which is sold out in some colors. The space was designed with Studio Boum and features chartreuse floors, teal walls, and a large pink metal dolphin. CEO Krishna Nikhil described the current period as one of momentum, with plans to double the business by 2029. The brand also continues to develop new products, including UPF swimwear launched in 2024 and ready-to-wear options. Huddart noted that the London location helps differentiate the brand from typical beachside pop-ups. She said the focus remains on building a distinct world for customers while staying true to the Original Crinkle fabric.

Burberry has teamed up with swimwear brand Hunza G for a limited-edition collection of bikinis, one-piece swimsuits, skirts and scrunchies. The items feature Hunza G's signature stretch crinkle fabric accented with Burberry's iconic check pattern. Hunza G founder Georgiana Huddart called partnering with Burberry 'one hundred percent a dream.'

Burberry has started a summer takeover of Hôtel Belles Rives in Antibes, France, covering the beach club and terrace with its blue check patterns from today until September. The move brings British heritage to the historic Art Deco property overlooking the Mediterranean.

Africa's leading online fashion retailer, Industrie Africa, will close its e-commerce operations on April 30 and transition into an advisory firm called Industrie Africa Plus. Founder Nisha Kanabar cited US tariffs, logistics challenges, and market volatility as key factors. The pivot aims to showcase African fashion through physical pop-ups and collaborations with luxury hotels and retail hubs.
