SaaS and fintech account for nearly half of Colombia's 2,295 startups

The number of startups in Colombia grew 9.3% in 2025 to reach 2,295 active companies, according to the Colombia Tech Report 2026 by KPMG.

SaaS represents 27% of the total and fintech 20%, adding up to 1,075 companies. Healthtech ranks third with 202 firms.

The ecosystem received 857 million dollars in investment during 2025, equivalent to 20% of regional capital. Local funds contributed 38.5 million dollars in early stages.

Rodrigo Rivera, president of KPMG Colombia, noted that the number of ventures rose from 1,100 in 2021 to 2,295 today. Bogotá and Cundinamarca concentrate 46% of startups, followed by Antioquia with 30%.
