Polish hurdler Jakub Szymański highlighted the event by clocking 7.37 seconds in the men's 60m hurdles, establishing a new national record. This time placed him joint seventh on the world all-time list and tied him for the top spot on the season's best list alongside American athletes Dylan Beard and Trey Cunningham. The 23-year-old extended his season win streak to 11 races and improved upon his previous Polish record of 7.39 set in Łódź the previous February. Szymański's performance positions him well ahead of the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Kujawy Pomorze from March 20-22, 2026. Among Europeans, only former world record-holder Colin Jackson has run faster, with times of 7.30 and 7.36 in 1994.
Poland secured a 1-2 finish in the hurdles, as Damian Czykier took second place in 7.55 seconds.
In the women's shot put, Dutch athlete Jessica Schilder threw 20.69m, achieving a world lead and matching the Dutch record she set while winning the European indoor title in Apeldoorn the previous year. This mark surpassed her own previous world lead from Apeldoorn last month by 20 centimeters and marked the farthest indoor throw globally since 2013. The 26-year-old remained unbeaten in 2026, owning three of the season's four farthest winning distances. Her throws included 20.38m in the third round, 20.03m later, and the winning 20.69m on her final attempt.
Other notable results included Great Britain's Jeremiah Azu running a personal best and meeting record of 6.47 in the men's 60m, placing him joint fifth on the season list, with Emmanuel Eseme second in 6.55. In the women's 60m hurdles, Nadine Visser of the Netherlands edged Switzerland's Ditaji Kambundji, 7.81 to 7.82. Canada's Sade McCreath won the women's 60m in 7.12.
