An environmental inventory has shown that the fire-damaged house at Tjärna Ängar contains asbestos and high levels of PCB. The property is owned by the municipal company Tunabyggen and is to be demolished.
The house at Tjärna Ängar in Borlänge was severely damaged in a fire in September 2025. A subsequent environmental inventory revealed the presence of asbestos as well as elevated levels of PCB in the building.
Tunabyggen, which owns the apartment building, has decided to demolish it due to the damage and the substances found. The demolition follows directly after the fire last year.
The information comes from a report published by borlangetidning.se and confirmed in Dala-Demokraten.
