Valle del Cauca advances Talento y Reserva Deportiva Program with future focus

Building on the 2025 selection of 66 athletes and recent competitive successes, Valle del Cauca's Talento y Reserva Deportiva Program—led by Governor Dilian Francisca Toro and Indervalle—emphasizes ongoing talent identification, expanded support, and projections to maintain the region's sports dominance nationally and internationally.

Following the 2024 launch, which selected around 30 athletes in Olympic disciplines and a few in Paralympic, and the 2025 evaluation of 70 talents across 13 camps in seven municipalities (Buga, Yumbo, Jamundí, Tuluá, Palmira, Roldanillo, and Cali), the program has solidified 66 athletes in its official roster—spanning conventional and Paralympic areas like athletics, skating, wrestling, weightlifting, judo, boxing, taekwondo, karate, cycling, archery, paranatation, para-athletics, paracycling, and para-powerlifting.

These talents have already delivered results, including international golds in skating, weightlifting, and karate, and national successes in archery and cycling. Now, the initiative projects continued growth: persistent talent scouting, reinforcement of the Nacientes Valle Oro Puro component, and enhanced technical, biomedical, and methodological assistance.

"This program is the foundation that will allow us to keep Valle in the national elite and project athletes capable of excelling internationally," Indervalle states. This strategy ensures a sustainable generational relay, positioning Valle del Cauca as a enduring sports powerhouse.
